Answers
General questions:
How does the phone work?
The R.A.T phone is first and foremost, a regular mobile phone, capable of receiving and making calls. However, the R.A.T phone can be easily turned into a sophisticated tapping and surveillance equipment, in the following way:
After purchasing the R.A.T phone, you program it with a Special Access Number (SAN). This number enables you to remotely control the R.A.T phone, and activate all of its functions. All you have to do, is give the R.A.T phone to the person you wish to keep track of, and you can tap his phone calls, intercept his instant text messages (SMS) and so on.
What is a Special Access Number (SAN)?
SAN is a code-number, which only you know. The SAN enables you to remotely activate and control all of the R.A.T phone functions. After you gave the R.A.T phone to the person you wish to tap, you can activate the R.A.T phone by sending SMS codes to the SAN. When these codes are received by the R.A.T phone, they "force" it into action. The access number contains two important features :
The SAN is composed of the R.A.T phone number, and of which you choose.
1. The R.A.T spy phone number.
2. The third party extension code (11-14 digit number).
What is the Third Party Extension?
After you have programmed the R.A.T phone, it will send the information it receives onwards. This information can be the R.A.T phone's location, instant text messages (SMS), in or outgoing calls and so on. This information is forwarded into another phone (the Third Party Extension). This phone can be used for several purposes:
1. It can program the R.A.T phone remotely.
2. It can tap the R.A.T phone's conversations.
3. It can "force" itself into an ongoing conversation made by the R.A.T phone, enabling the user either to listen or to speak.
4. It can intercept SMS messages received or sent by the R.A.T hone.
How can I program the phone?
The R.A.T phone has a hidden menu. This menu cannot be seen by the R.A.T phone user, and it can only be access by people who know its secret password. This menu allows you to decide what functions the R.A.T phone will perform (for instance: tap a call, send you a copy of every SMS received…)
After I've given the phone to its user, can I reprogram it?
Yes. Even after you have given the R.A.T phone to the person you wish to follow, you can program the phone. This is done with the SAN – all you need is a phone, capable of sending an SMS:
1. Type the SAN.
2. Type the code (each function has a pre-assigned code, set at the factory).
3. Send the message.
4. Wait for the acknowledgement.
The R.A.T phone is now reprogrammed. You can repeat this function as many times as you wish, anytime, and from any phone, capable of sending an SMS.
Can the phone be deactivated from the SAN?
Yes. The SAN enables you both to activate and deactivate all of the R.A.T phone functions remotely.
Can the R.A.T phone be activated differently?
Yes. Upon inserting a special string of digits, a hidden menu opens. This menu allows you to program the R.A.T phone and control all of its spying functions.
How do I know what codes to use?
The R.A.T phone comes with a menu, which specifies all the codes and functions that you can perform with the R.A.T phone. Each function has an activation code and cancellation code.
What happens if the SIM card is being replaced in the spy phone?
It doesn't matter. The spyphone's spy software is installed on the phone and not on the SIM card. As long as you know the number of the SIM card in the spy phone, you will always be able to secretly receive information.
Is it possible to change the SAN?
Yes. The SAN can be changed easily. You can change the SAN from afar, at any time, by sending an SMS with the new SAN number.
Why would I want to change the SAN?
As mentioned earlier, the R.A.T spy phone, like other surveillance equipment, can be tapped by any phone (the Third Party Extension), whose user has access to the R.A.T's secret SAN. You can choose which phone will serve as the Third Party Extension, but in order to do so, the R.A.T phone has to "know" which phone you use. This is set by the SAN. Every time you switch your extension, you need to notify the spy phone that you did so, by changing the SAN.
For How long can I tap the R.A.T spyphone?
You are only limited by the phone's battery. If the R.A.T phone's battery is drained, you will no longer be able to keep monitoring it.
Can the spy-phone work in every country and on every network?
Yes! This digital surveillance equipment works worldwide, on the GSM-900, DCS-1800 and PCS-1900 (USA) networks.
Listening mode
What is listening mode?
The R.A.T spyphone can serve as a bugging device, transmitting conversations held in a room or outdoor, to a designated Third Party Extension. The R.A.T phone will pick the ambient noises, and sent them to the Third Party Extension.
How can I turn the listening mode on?
You can turn the listening mode on in two ways:
1. If you own the R.A.T phone, you can turn its listening mode on by accessing the hidden menu.
2. If you gave the R.A.T phone to a person you wish to keep track of, you can turn the R.A.T phone listening mode remotely, by using the SAN feature (sending a code via an SMS, which will force the R.A.T phone into action).
How far from the phone can I hear a conversation?
When placed on a surface which doesn't face a barrier (walls, partitions, electromagnetic interference…), the phone can pick every conversation in a radius of up to 5 meters clearly.
When the phone is on "listening mode" and a call comes in, will I miss it?
No! The R.A.T phone automatically switches from listening mode into incoming calls tapping-mode. This will happen if a call enters to the R.A.T phone, or out of the R.A.T phone, or if the R.A.T spyphone user has touched the keypad.
Can the R.A.T phone user know I turned the phone from afar?
No! You can silently turn the R.A.T phone's listening mode, without giving any indication to its user. The display won't light up and no sound will be made by the R.A.T phone.
What do I do if the R.A.T user turned his phone off?
You can activate the R.A.T phone, even when it was turned off. You can also make the spy cellphone appear to be turned off, so even though the phone is turned ON now, its user won't know it. The phone will seem "dead" – its display remains turned off, and it will make no sound.
Interception mode:
How do I know the R.A.T phone receives or makes a call?
When the R.A.T phone user receives or makes a call, your phone (i.e the Third Party Extension), will receive a notice. The notice will contain several details (such as the phone number that was being dialed, the R.A.T phone identification number and so on.)
How do I tap a call?
You can tap a call by following a few short steps:
1. Access the R.A.T phone tapping function, by sending an SMS with the proper SAN and activation code to the R.A.T phone.
2. Specify the Third Party Extension you intend to use, in order to intercept the calls (the extension can be your mobile phone, your house phone, your office phone, etc'…).
3. The R.A.T phone is now ready to perform a phone tap.
4. When the R.A.T phone receives or makes a call, your Third Party Extension will receive a message "Outgoing/ Ingoing Call: (the number which was dialed).
5. You can choose to listen to the call or ignore it.
6. You can choose to ONLY listen to the call or speak (conference call).
Will I be heard by the R.A.T phone user?
It depends. If you wish to listen to the conversation, but do not wish the R.A.T phone user to know, press the mute button. You can join in the conversation any time, by simply turning off the mute function.
Are calls the only thing I can intercept?
No! You can intercept instant text messages (SMS), SIM card numbers and phone numbers that are stored on the spy cellphone or on the SIM card.
Disguise and Block:
Can I block an SMS?
Yes! You can block SMS messages from being sent or received by the R.A.T phone:
1. You can block SMS messages from being received.
2. You can block SMS messages from being sent. Or:
3. You can block both ingoing and outgoing SMS messages.
Can I send an SMS on behalf of the spy cellphone?
Yes! You can send an SMS from your OWN mobile phone, making it seem as if the SMS was sent from the spy cellphone.
What other disguise modes are there?
The Third Party Extension can cause the R.A.T spy cellphone to "play dead". By sending a special code, the R.A.T spyphone will be turned off and will appear to be completely dead. Nothing its user will do, won't seem to turn it back on. While at a "dead" mode, you can switch the R.A.T phone into listening mode, and listen to everything which happens in its vicinity.
